You could probably argue that the entire sourcing discipline emerged as a result of recruiters discovering sophisticated ways to interrogate a system to retrieve information about potential candidates.

 

Consequently, the news that LinkedIn had begun to suppress important biographical data from being crawled by search engines (especially Google) brought alarm to the entire recruiting community.
