Google launches job search for transitioning military veterans
For any enterprise company, job board, or staffing agency already using Google’s Cloud Talent Solution, SURPRISE this feature is live on your site right now. Transitioning service personnel can enter their U.S. military occupational code into the job search bar and receive targeted job search results.
That’s right, not a different search bar, no special handshakes necessary it’s LIVE!
What does a Google Talent Solution client have to do to make this search available? In the words of Google’s GTM man Tarquin Clark – “The answer is nothing. It just works!”
Now THAT is exactly how an API should roll…
Giving military veterans better job search is pretty awesome. After 20 years in the military myself and attempts to solve this exact puzzle, I’m happy to see Google in the game.
But there is a bigger scheme here. Remember Job Search isn’t the only BIG API Google Talent Solution is swinging around. Imagine Google Talent Solution’s candidate search matching veteran profiles to reqs. Could that ability pop-up into Hire by Google anytime soon?
Not too mention this new capability was launched without Google clients needing to lift a finger. No bullshit updates or launch schedule, “it just works”…
Last but never least Google for Jobs now ALSO has this military veteran search capability… We keep hearing the Talent Solution APIs and Search initiatives are not under the same umbrella, but it kinda feels like they are…
